Communications Partner, Sequoia Capital
Karin has worked for more than a decade with today’s leading firms in telecommunications, information technology and security, including Juniper Networks, VeriSign, Sun Microsystems, HP and Agilent; but in many ways, it is her work with mid-sized firms and start-ups that she counts as her best work.
Karin believes there are many great stories each firm has to tell and she helps them do so. She has helped move the needle for wireless innovators, including CREDANT Techologies, BridgePort Networks, Openwave Systems, and others, by continually landing interviews with influential news outlets such as Network World, InfoWorld, IDG, CNET, Fortune, Forbes, the San Jose Mercury News, The Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times.
Prior to her work at Trainer Communications, Karin led public relations campaigns at Weber-Shandwick, Porter Novelli, and Bite Communications. These included messaging, investor relations and setting up and attending trade shows and press tours with a number of high tech executives.
A graduate of San Diego State University, Karin earlier worked as a news reporter at radio and TV stations throughout California including KNTV Channel 11 in San Jose and a variety of radio stations. She reported on local stories for the Associated Press and NBC radio as a stringer, and served as the top of the hour “voice” of KTEH TV, a PBS station in San Jose.
