Laura Singer has more than 25 years’ experience editing and producing marketing collateral, manuals, catalogs, magazines, newsletters, Web pages, training materials, and press releases. She has worked as a freelance publications consultant in Silicon Valley since 1985; her client list includes Apple Computer, Adobe, Beyond.com, Big Sky Communications, Dade Behring, Helix Medical Communications, IDG Executive Forums, MicroFit, SGI, Sun Microsystems, Synopsys, Talus, Trainer Communications, VeriFone, and Wells Fargo. Laura has also taught copyediting and technical editing courses for UC Berkeley Extension.
Before going independent, Laura worked as a senior editor for McDonnell Douglas ACS (formerly Tymshare), as chief copy editor for InfoWorld, and as employee communications administrator for a division of GTE.
A graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, Laura earned a master's degree from Boston University's School of Public Communication. She is a member of the Bay Area Editors’ Forum, the International Association of Business Communicators, and the American Medical Writers Association.
When she’s not polishing prose, Laura enjoys going to the theater (her record is three performances in one day!), concerts, and ballet; staring at the ocean; and baking.
